We are deeply troubled by the rapid loss of forests all over the world, particularly in the context of disposable tableware industry. We are all aware of widely used single use plastic plates & bowls used across the UK. Despite the ban coming into effect in October 2023, realistically this will take many years to come into enforcement.
Our customers are aware that palm leaf plates are made from naturally fallen areca palm leaves. This means no tree or plant is cut in the production of our stock. We don't just stop there. Limiting the number of trees used in our day-to-day goods is also at the heart of our mission - this includes packaging and transport. In fact, we love our trees so much we have worked to save over 1200 trees and counting! From compostable plates made with sugarcane fiber to cooking utensils crafted from bamboo, we’re committed to finding ultra-sustainable alternatives to cutting down trees. Our dedication to sustainability is evident in our wide range of products, from compostable plates made with sugarcane fiber to cooking utensils crafted from bamboo.
We have already funded plantation of 980 trees in the year 2023. Looking ahead, we’re committing to planting 50 trees for every freight container we import into the United Kingdom. Collectively, we’re looking forward to planting a whole lot of trees!
